It’s an Insane World

It’s an insane world,
And I don’t belong.
It’s an insane world,
And I am wrong.
It’s an insane world,
And I don’t see anything.
It’s an insane world,
And I feel nothing.
It’s an insane world,
And I am all alone.
It’s an insane world,
And I want to be alone.
It’s an insane world—
No love, just questions.
It’s an insane world—
All answers, no love.
I don’t belong here;
I never did.
I can’t start over,
I can’t even sleep.
It’s an insane world,
Of worlds within worlds,
Each bigger than the other,
Each heavier than the other.
Each eating the other,
Each breaking the other.
It’s an insane world,
Going round in circles,
Bouncing off the ends of worlds,
Plummeting to the bottom.
In this insane world,
Bigger than all of us,
I want to be a dot— small and faint,
Or a rock— big and rolling.
But in this insane world,
I am just an answer.
Just a faint answer.
