Poems
Don’t Stop Them
Don’t stop them
Because it’s dirty.
Don’t stop them
Because it’s tough.
They are stronger than you know,
And happier in the rough.
Don’t stop them
Because it’s not how you did it.
Don’t stop them
Because you feel it’s lame.
They have the power to create
Their own rule—it’s their game.
Don’t stop them
Because you can.
Don’t stop them
Because they are small.
They’re restricted for now by body,
But their souls stand tall.
Let them dig tunnels in the sand
Because they want to.
Let them bring home all the rocks
Because they can.
Sit down and hear their stories—
Without a timetable or a plan.
